I hit a curb this evening and possibly caused some damage to the underside of my car. The messed up streets of Seattle seemed to have this nice extrusion from the street corner where the curb comes out and then goes back in around the corner. Anyway, I hit it, the car went up onto it, followed by the back wheel and in the process, I am not sure if I bent anything underneath. I was going about 5 MPH. There is this bar (looks like a cheese grater) that runs in parallel to the beam that you place your jack stands under the front passenger side. I cannot remember if it is supposed to be curved the way it is now, or perfectly level from front to back. What is it for, and what is it supposed to look like? Any photos would help. I did manage to chip two of my wheels and put a nice little cut in my tire. Seattle's streets are ruthless. :-(
